Judi Voris

Judi began the Regen Weimaraners breeding program in 1996 under the guidance of the late Sharon Prescott of Kristof Kennels. She started with foundation bitch, BISS Ch. Skyhi's EZ Magical Reign UD JH SD NRD Can CDX BROM.   She has trained and trialed dogs to Agility Championships, Master Hunter, Retrieving Dog Excellent and Tracking Dog Excellent titles and has shown many Regen Weimaraners to their Bench Championships in the Bred By Exhibitor class.  She has also earned multiple High in Trial awards.  She is the former Chair of the Weimaraner Club of America's Companion Events Committee.  Her passions lie in agility, field and obedience.

Anne Tyson

Anne joined Regen Weimaraners in 2003.  She has trained and trialed dogs to Field Trial, Obedience Trail and Tracking Championships as well as Retrieving Dog Excellent and Utility Dog Excellent Titles.  She has won many High in Trial and High Combined Score awards on multiple dogs and has handled Weimaraners to many placements and wins in all-breed field trials.  She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Weimaraner Club of America and is a member of the WCA Companion Committee.  Her passions lie in field, obedience and tracking.  Together, Judi and Anne continue to breed Regen Weimaraners for amateur owners who desire to train, trial and show their Weimaraners at the highest levels of performance.

Regen Weimaraners dogs have earned field, show, obedience, agility & tracking championships. In addition, some of our Weimaraners have lived in working homes for search and rescue, therapy and hunting.  We strive to produce healthy Weimaraners with sound temperaments, athletic conformation and excellent hunting ability.

The following are some of the considerations that go into selection of our breeding stock:

It goes without question that the health of our breeding dogs is the number one consideration.  Both the dam and sire must have been x-rayed free of hip dysplasia. We strive to keep the 10-generation coefficient of inbreeding at 6% or lower in accordance with scientific evidence that indicates that inbreeding may lead to a variety of genetic health issues.

Sound temperament provides the foundation for top hunting and performance Weimaraners. The combination of boldness and biddability creates dogs that are capable of whatever the owner wishes to do with them. We assess our puppies and adult dogs in a number of categories to help us select breeding stock that will continue to produce dogs that excel in hunting and performance events.

Hunting Ability
Strong hunting desire, excellent pointing instinct, a natural retrieve, and water love are some of the hunting criteria we use to assess our breeding stock. Our preference is that all puppies be tested in NAVHDA Natural Ability tests. We also evaluate the dogs in real life hunting, field trials, hunt tests and ratings tests.

While we have produced many AKC and CKC show champions, the focus of our breeding program is not on producing top-winning show dogs. We are more concerned with the athletic ability of the dog, so within the guidelines of the WCA Standard, we strive to produce moderate, balanced, flexible and agile dogs that are capable of hunting all day in the field.

True to our motto, 'Excellence in Versatility', we have produced Weimaraners that excel in all venues.  Please see our Performance Showcase for details.
